Lancaster County man in custody for distracting residents while guns were stolen, police say

AND WE DO START WITH BREAKING NEWS OUT OF LANCASTER COUNTY, WHERE THE CORONER WAS CALLED TO THE SCENE OF A PEDESTRIAN THAT WAS STRUCK BY A VEHICLE. EMERGENCY DISPATCHERS SAY POLICE RESPONDED TO THE AREA OF ROUTE 30, LINCOLN HIGHWAY AND BOWMAN ROAD JUST AFTER TEN LAST NIGHT. THAT SECTION OF ROUTE 30 REOPENED JUST AFTER 230 THIS MORNING. EAST LAMPETER TOWNSHIP POLICE ARE INVESTIGATING. HARRISBURG POLICE ARE SEARCHING FOR TWO MEN FACING MURDER CHARGES IN CONNECTION TO A DEADLY SHOOTING EARLIER THIS WEEK. POLICE SAY 23 YEAR OLD AARON HURT AND 22 YEAR OLD TARIQ COLEMAN ARE BOTH WANTED ON MURDER AND GUN CHARGES. OFFICERS SAY THEY RESPONDED TO THE AREA OF NORTH FOURTH AND MINICK STREETS AROUND 745 MONDAY NIGHT AND FOUND A MAN WHO HAD BEEN SHOT. ACCORDING TO POLICE, THAT MAN WAS TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL WHERE HE DIED. ALL RIGHT. WE’VE GOT BRIGHT SUNSHINE AT THIS HOUR. A Lancaster County man was arrested for distracting residents while guns were stolen from their home, according to the Manheim Township Police Department. The victims said Christo Belony, 21, of Lancaster, distracted them at their door while another "co-conspirator(s)" stole items from inside, police said. Belony asked the residents for directions and to connect to their Wi-Fi, which the victims found suspicious, according to the report. When Belony walked away, the residents noticed their garage door was slightly open as well as an interior door leading from the garage to the basement, police said. The victims reported that two guns had been stolen from their basement, which are valued at about $1,450, according to the report. Officers on scene then saw a black vehicle drive slowly toward the residence, make a U-turn, blow a stop sign and flee the area, the report said. Police said they attempted to catch up with the vehicle but lost it as it accelerated at a high rate of speed. Officers later saw the vehicle pull out of a McDonald's and followed it to a Sheetz, where Belony was seen getting out of the vehicle, according to the report. Belony was taken into custody and admitted to distracting the victims while the guns were stolen, police said. Belony was charged with burglary and theft by unlawful taking.
